Therapy for
ARTISTS
It's difficult to find specific help from professionals familiar enough with the life of a musician. That's what I need*

THE CHALLENGES
of an Artist
The life of an artist, though immensely meaningful and exciting, can also be exceptionally challenging. Study shows, that music artists, more than other professionals are exposed to depression, anxiety and stress. For instance, a survey with professional musicians in UK shows that in their lifetime around 66% musicians experience depression or other psychological problems, 74% struggle with performance anxiety, 65% experience loneliness, and 61% have relationship problems (2014, Health and well-being survey by Help Musicians UK)
All over the world artists struggle with challenges related to:
-
personal character of the artistic products
-
high performance expectations
-
sensitivity and unbalanced emotional stimulation
-
pressure on expressing a strong identity
-
no objective standards for evaluation of artistic projects
-
limited creative productivity
-
lack of motivation and inspiration
-
irregular schedule of the performer
-
and many other non art-life related subjects
Sadness, frustration and performance-related stress can sometimes play a meaningful role in creative processes. At the same time, they can become overwhelming, limiting or exhausting when they take over. When emotional states or inner pressures begin to affect your creative work, your sense of meaning or your quality of life, it can be deeply supportive to explore them together with a psychologist.

In therapy, vulnerability is not something to eliminate or control, but something to meet with curiosity, respect and care. Through a compassionate and present approach, it becomes possible to relate differently to inner struggles, so that sensitivity and depth can remain sources of creativity rather than suffering.
The therapeutic process is about creating more balance, aliveness and inner freedom — in your work, in your relationships and in the way you live your life.
THE Creative
therapist
The last 10 years I have been working with musicians, artists, dancers, actors, directors, composers, songwriters, both in an artistic-work context, and from a psychological perspective. In 2010 I finished a master thesis in psychology, on mental health among jazz musicians. I am also an active artist myself, working with modern improvised music - in 2016 I graduated from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen with a master degree in music performance.

Many artists experience feeling misunderstood or alone when they seek professional help. Having a therapist with a deep understanding of creative processes, the realities of the art world, and the particular vulnerabilities and pressures of performing artists can therefore be a valuable support.

In my work, I offer a space where artists are met with respect for both their creative identity and their human complexity. Whether the challenges relate to artistic work, personal life or relationships, the focus is on creating greater self-understanding, clarity and inner support. My intention is to help you listen more closely to yourself and allow direction to emerge in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.
